Welcome to City Stories, a new storytelling space from the City of Saskatoon.
Welcome to City Stories, a new storytelling space from the City of Saskatoon. This is not a place for news releases or public service announcements. Instead, it is where stories that don’t always have a traditional home are shared.
City Stories highlight people, projects and ideas connected to the City of Saskatoon that residents may not normally hear about, whether it be human interest, a different perspective, a story behind a decision or a moment that offers new insight.
“We often have stories to tell from the City of Saskatoon that don’t necessarily fit within traditional formats like a news release, social media post or webpage,” says Carla Blumers, Director of Communications and Public Engagement. “City Stories gives us a dedicated space to share those stories.”
Every day, City of Saskatoon employees plan, build and maintain services residents rely on, including streets, sidewalks, bridges, parks, pools and transit. There are also many other stories connected to the City that don’t always surface, including efforts related to accessibility, safety, affordability, sustainability and neighbourhood connections. City Stories brings all of those together in one place.
“The stories may take a closer look at a project, feature the people involved or share insights to help readers see the City of Saskatoon from a different perspective,” says Blumers.
Residents are encouraged to check for new stories every week at citystories.saskatoon.ca.
